![]() As long as your kid can handle that (YOUR KID, not you) they will enjoy ark sooo much. No guts or gore, only visible wounds like gashes and blood on something that has been attacked. They will also have to learn controls too, which may take a while depending on age. You need to build a safe shelter, get access to food and water, and scavenge resources such as trees and bushes to survive. In ARK you must learn to survive by adapting to your environment. ![]() Your kid most likely learned every curse word in the book by ages 9-10, regardless of parenting. As long as your kid doesn't touch multi-player below the ages of 12-13 it's fine. In multi-player servers other people can kill you, steal your resources and attack your base IN GAME. They have puts weeks worth of hours into this game, and have NEVER played multi-player with others. I have two twin boys who are both 11 today, and started playing ARK when they where 9 in 2018. But the ones like The Magnificent 7 or something like that are NOT ok.ĪRK: Survival Evolved is a great dinosaur-survival game. Most of them are ok for kids around 10 like the marvel superhero movies. If you get it for a older child and you have another you feel like shouldn’t see the gameplay or other parts of the game try playing a game with them or watch a movie with them. Not recommended for kids 8- can scare them or make them more violent. Yes there’s the multi player option, I don’t recommend it though because you can play with people that are on the other side of the world, and they can attack and kill you and deplet all of your resources and take your stuff. It can be called a 1st person shooter game if you get to the higher levels but it’s only to defend yourself from t-rexs and other large dinosaurs. The higher level you are you get more supply drops or massive crates that have supplies including: guns, ammo, clothing and other items to help you survive. Also there’s no gore it all, just some blood that can be turned off. I know other parents don’t like the blood and killing but there’s a way in the settings to turn the blood off. This game is amazing! I got it for my 11year old for his 11 birthday and it’s awesome. ![]() All in all, a great game, prepare to get hooked. If anything, it shows a kid how useless and dangerous alcohol is. You can make beer, but it's so labor intensive, probably nobody bothers, and the effect is the most toned down in any game I've seen. Zero drugs except for a certain berry can be used to tranquilize dinos, and keep them unconscious. Absolutely zero sexual content, depending on how you feel about your characters being dressed like cavemen until they get clothes. No guts or insides are ever shown, it is probably the most toned down bloody violence you can get. ![]() You will use weapons of all kinds, from your fists, to an axe, to automatic firearms, and the result is always the same as far as blood. There's no way to avoid the violence, you will be under almost constant attack from predator dinosaurs and you will have to protect yourself and your weaker pet dinos. With blood turned on, there is no gore whatsoever, but there is red blood from your attacks. With proper supervision and blood settings turned off, this can be a great game for pre-teens and up. She loves dinosaurs, loves the crafting and building, harvesting and exploring. We both have over 700 hours in the game and never joined a server. There's so much fun to be had without ever joining a server. She can only play it with me or her sister, and we do not play online with other players. Ark: Survival is the most violent game she's allowed to play. I am pretty strict about what games my 12 year old plays, and don't care for the level of violence in games today.
